Training Routine
A daily schedule that Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s coach Manish Ojha at Gennex Cricket Academy in Patna has made for him from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. will consist of batting drills, fielding sessions, and match simulations—conducted in a manner to put the IPL pressure on, to the point of no return.
His father had a netted pitch built next to their house in Tajpur in 2017, where local and university bowlers would be brought in to practice constantly on covering their food and travel. Uncle Rajeev handled the logistics, and Aarti, Vaibhav’s mother, made the early morning meal for road trips to the academies in Samastipur and Patna. During the 2021 lockdown, the 10-year-old used their rooftop to practice skills, finding positives in a negative situation.
Fitness Regimen
The fitness aspect is the heart of his training and is based on performing with strength, keeping the core stable, being quick and improving bone density through cardio like sprinting, HIIT, weight training, and functional exercises. All the workouts begin with running warm-ups and are finished with static stretches for recovery.
Diet Habits
Mentally, Ojha commends his fighting spirit knowing when to retreat or when to be the one dictating the flow of the game, which is further supported by setting goals every five overs in net sessions. Such a strict diet is the reason behind this: the intake is high in carbs, proteins, nuts, and seeds for a constant supply of energy, at the same time, he has eliminated his favorite foods like pizza and mutton for the sake of weight control and avoidance of junk food.
Early Coaching and Schooling
After the initial instruction at Patel Maidan in Samastipur with Brajesh Jha, who brought a polish to his natural attacking style, Vaibhav was ready for the Rajasthan Royals’ nets post-IPL auction and later on for the technique refining.
As an 8th grader at Modesty School, Tajpur, he gets up at 5 a.m. for home tutoring before cricket practice, placing a sport on the pedestal of educational proper guidance from his father. His left-handed batting is the result of mind-numbing repetition with errors being rarely repeated, family sacrifices—like grandmother’s cheering—being the source of resilience in age debates.
