Aurobindo commissions Pen-G plant under in Andhra Pradesh along with 3 other units

HYDERABAD: Aurobindo Pharma on Monday said it has commissioned four manufacturing facilities, including its Penicillin-G plant under the Centre’s production linked incentive scheme for the promotion of domestic manufacturing of critical key starting materials, drug intermediates and active pharmaceutical ingredients.
These four facilities have been commissioned through the company’s wholly-owned subsidiaries, Hyderabad-based Aurobindo Pharma said in a regulatory filing on Monday.
Aurobindo said it has commissioned a 15000 metric tonnes per annum (MTPA) Pen-G plant along with a 1.8 lakh mtpa glucose plant, for use as feedstock for Pen-G production, under Lyfius Pharma Pvt Ltd at Kakinada SEZ area in Andhra Pradesh.
It has also commissioned a 3,600 MTPA plant for manufacturing Pen-G forward derivative 6-Amino Penicillanic Acid (6-APA), which will be used for manufacturing Amoxicillin bulk, at Kakinada SEZ under its arm Qule Pharma Pvt Ltd.
The production at all the three facilities at Kakinada SEZ will be used for captive use, domestic supply as well as exports, the company said.
Aurobindo also announced the commissioning of 285 million ampoules and vials per annum fully export-oriented manufacturing facility under Eugia Steriles Pvt Ltd at Tadi village of Anakapalli district of AP.
Apart from these, it also said it has commissioned a 13,200 MTPA capacity for ready-to-compress granulated products plant for captive use, domestic supply and exports at Sancham village of Srikakulam district of AP under Auroactive Pharma Pvt Ltd.
