Mohit Malik on how fitness and mindfulness help him bring Lord Shiva to

Mumbai, October 2025: Sony SAB’s Gatha Shiv Parivaar Ki – Ganesh Kartikey has captured the
imagination of viewers with its epic storytelling, bringing to life the extraordinary journey of the Shiv
Parivar – Lord Shiva (Mohit Malik), Goddess Parvati (Shrenu Parikh), and their sons, Lord Ganesh
(Ekansh Kathrotiya) and Lord Kartikey (Subhan Khan). The show beautifully explores the emotions,
relationships, and challenges within this celestial family. Beyond the grandeur and mythology, it’s the
cast’s dedication and preparation that bring authenticity and depth to their characters, making the story
feel real and relatable.
For Mohit Malik, who essays the role of Lord Shiva, maintaining a balance between physical fitness and
mental peace is key to embodying the calm, composed energy of his character. His disciplined lifestyle,
from regular workouts and meditation to mindful eating and self-care, reflects the very essence of Lord
Shiv’s tranquility and strength.

Speaking about his routine, he shared, “Fitness and meditation keep me centered and are both non-
negotiable as I step into the role of Lord Shiva. I train five days a week before leaving for shoot, and it
sets the tone for my entire day. On days I miss my workout, I feel off balance and lethargic. Meditation
helps me maintain focus, and I often practice it during my commute to the set, turning that time into a
moment of calm reflection. Along with this, I follow a clean diet with four balanced meals a day,
focusing on protein and fiber while avoiding sugar and fried food. Yoga and breathing exercises have
also become a big part of my prep, they help me channel the stillness and composure that Lord Shiva
embodies. Playing Lord Shiva requires both strength and serenity, and this disciplined routine keeps
me grounded and connected to the energy of the character. Sometimes I go for a one-hour walk at
night, listening to a podcast or spending quiet time with myself, it’s my way of recharging and staying
mindful.”
