NEW DELHI: Government of India undertaking Neyveli Lignite Corporation India Limited released it financial quarter 3 results on Tuesday. The public sector undertaking under the administrative control of ministry of coal, registered a standalone profit of Rs 1,673 crores as against Rs 474 crores last year with a growth of 253% and a consolidated profit of Rs. 1,753 crores as against Rs 590 past year. The undertaking also paid Rs 962 crores in taxes in quarter 3 as against Rs 209 crores last year.
NLC India ltd. achieved capital expenditure of Rs 3,493 crore against the annual target of Rs 2,880 crore. the undertaking has also declared 15% interim dividend for Financial year 2023-24
The undertaking was awarded EPC contract to BHEL for setting up (3×800 mega watt) pit head ultra super critical Talabira thermal power project in Odisha, whose foundation stone was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently.
In December, 2023, NLCIL mines was also awarded with 13 star rating by the ministry of coal with NLC mines rated as the best mines in the country consistently for two years.
It is notable that NLCIL has also incorporated a subsidiary NLC India Green Energy ltd (Nigel) to undertake green initiatives
