Nomination in joint MFs optional

MUMBAI: Markets regulator Sebi has said that investors holding mutual fund units jointly may not nominate someone or willingly opt out of nomination, as is the case when investments are in the name of a single investor. There were MF distributors and financial planners who had raised the issue with the regulator when a nomination in all MF accounts, held by a single investor or jointly, was made compulsory.
