Taj signs third hotel in Ayodhya; to have a Vivanta, Ginger & SeleQtions there

NEW DELHI: Taj parent Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) has signed its third property in Ayodhya. The latest signing is for a brownfield project that will be branded as an IHCL SeleQtions hotel. Taj has earlier finalised a 100-room upscale Vivanta and a 120-room lean lux Ginger in the holy town that will open by 2027.
IHCL MD & CEO Puneet Chhatwal said: “This signing is in line with IHCL’s strategy to establish a significant presence in spiritual destinations.Ayodhya’s remarkable transformation to a world-class pilgrimage destination, marked by the inauguration of the Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir, is poised to draw an influx of tourists from around the world. This new hotel addition reflects our commitment to developing cultural circuits and itineraries, harnessing their tourism potential. IHCL will now offer three distinct brands in Ayodhya of about 400 rooms and we are delighted to collaborate with KM Vyapar Ltd for this SeleQtions hotel.”
The upcoming 150-key hotel SeleQtions will be spread over 1.3 acres and the site is close to the airport. KM Vyapar Ltd promoter Aditya Jhunjhunwala said: “We are delighted to partner with IHCL, India’s leading hospitality company for this hotel. We are confident that the company, with its successful track record of pioneering new destinations, will contribute to the growth and enhancement of Ayodhya’s hospitality landscape.”
Given the visitor potential of Ayodhya, IHCL may have a Taj there too.
